November 2013

We leave for Burma on Sunday with great expectations. I entered the TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR competition and 4 of my shots of the fisherman on Inle Lake have been shortlisted in the ‘Vanishing and Emerging Cultures’ category.
I also have been shortlisted in the ‘Best single image’ Monochrome category for one of my photos of the bulls in the Camargue- results will be announced mid-December and I am honoured to be shortlisted amongst some amazing photographers.

It has been a very busy 18 months developing and running new tours, making new friends, and getting some amazing shots in the process.

In Europe we have continued to run the White Horses tour with two shoots this year, and next April and October we will be combining this with a 3 day shoot in Provence – having just got back from planning the schedule I am really looking forward to this tour. We continue to offer the Dordogne workshops twice a year and the summer lavender in Provence tour, while in the pipeline for 2015 are another visit to Alsace as well as Corsica,

Iceland in February was spectacular, and next year we will be running a tour in the early summer to include the lovely Icelandic horses- a very different breed from the White Horses of the Camargue!

Venice in 2012 offered spectacular costumes and weather- from sun to snow to ‘Aqua Alta’- I wonder what next year has in store for us.

In the spring I visited Slovenia and Croatia for the first time and was blown away by the landscapes- distances are short and a lot can be covered in a week. We have developed the Slovenia tour with local photographers and it promises to be a memorable week. For 2015 we are also planning a trip to Croatia.

I first visited Morocco on the 80’s, then again in the late 90’s with my family, and with a photography group in 2003. The sheer variety of landscapes, souks, architecture and colour are a joy for photographers, and we will be back again in November 2014.

A trip to China in April really wetted my appetite, and we now have three tours prepared over the next 2 years- 2014 is already full and details of the two 2015 tours will be on line in mid December.
