Icelandic Horses photo workshop

10-14 June 2019

The Icelandic horse is unique. Known as “the most needed servant”, the Icelandic horse is small is stature, about the size of a pony, but is tough and resilient, shaped by the harsh Icelandic climate. It has many different coat colours and even develops a double coat in the winter. With beautiful manes and colourful coats, Icelandic horses are extremely photogenic.

We’ll stay for 4 nights in a boutique style luxury manor house on a horse farm in Southern Iceland.  We’ve scheduled 4 main shoots with several horses in different locations, which include a waterfall, a black sand beach and a glacial river.  The rest of the time will be spent photographing the horses in the surrounding countryside. We’ll have access to over 150 horses, so will have plenty of opportunities to capture the horses grazing in the fields.

This is the beginning of the lupine season and we will take the opportunity to photograph some horses amongst these beautiful flowers.
