Tuscany Autumn Photo Tour

21-27 October 2018

South of Siena lies the Orcia valley where we will be based in a beautiful hotel for 6 nights. October is the perfect time to photograph the landscape as the leaves on the trees and the vines change colour. The valleys often fill with mist in the morning creating magical, ethereal scenes. The rows of cypress trees and old stone houses that sit on top of the hills look magnificent in the soft, golden light.

We’ll photograph the exquisite architecture of Pienza, Montepulciano and San Quirco as well as the vineyards of Montalcino and San’Antimo. A short drive to the North is Siena, famous for it’s medieval architecture and magnificent piazza.

The sun sets early in October, so we’ll have plenty of time to relax after a full day of photography and enjoy the delicious local food and wine.

We also welcome non-photogrpahic partners on this tour- Gilly will be with us throughout to organise visits to local villages, walks, cooking courses and wine tasting in a local vineyard.

A testimonial from The 2017 autumn workshop

“Thank you for the most fabulous week in Tuscany!  It was lovely to meet you both and also Phoebe, who was brilliant.  Not only was Phoebe incredibly kind, patient and helpful, she was also great company.  It really was a wonderful week with an extremely nice group – everyone got on and it was very companionable.  I loved our house and our forays over to the hotel for food were brilliant – the family were just incredibly nice and our breakfasts and dinners and indeed the Cinderella wine just delicious.  It really could not have been a better week and I really enjoyed it – so a HUGE thank you.
It goes without saying that I learned a huge amount about landscape photography and become more confident with my camera and settings, and it was so useful gaining knowledge about what to do in different situations.”
