Oman Photography Tour
30 November-11 December 2018 12 days A luxury, 4-wheel drive adventure through Oman
Oman is home to one of the most open societies in the Middle East. It has historic souks, stunning architecture, the highest mountain range in the region and some of the friendliest people you’re likely to meet on your travels. We’ll use luxury 4-wheel drive land cruisers and stay in some of the best hotels in the country. Our journey has been carefully designed to include the most photogenic parts of the country and will take us through mountains, deserts and along the rugged coast.
Oman is certainly on the up and worth visiting sooner rather than later. After a day photographing the stunning city of Muscat, we’ll follow the coast south stopping at emerald pools, waterfalls and lush plantations before we arrive at the picturesque lagoon of Sur with its’ white houses and dhows. Here we’ll get a chance to photograph turtles on the beach at the local turtle reserve.
A couple of nights will be spent in the desert at a luxury campsite where we can photograph the night sky, the beautiful sand dunes and, of course, camels. On the way to the ancient capital of Nizwa, famous for it’s craft souk and old tower, we’ll stop at markets full of local produce, people and livestock. Our drive continues through canyons with hanging gardens, palm plantations and villages. Finally, no trip to Oman would be compete without a visit to an oasis with hot springs, said to have healing properties.
Oman has a lot to offer for photographers and is a relatively new destination, so you will return with images that most other photographers have never seen. The food is delicious, the accommodation and service is top class and is a perfect winter destination.
