Holland in Spring Photography Workshop - Tulip fields, windmills, landscape , architecture

This workshop takes place during the tulip season when the stunning fields of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils are at their best. Rows and rows of the colourful flowers come to life in April across the Netherlands,  and we'll do our best to capture the beautiful landscape of North and South Holland.

We'll be based in 3 locations with 3 nights near Alkmaar, 1 night in Lisse for easy access to the incredible Keukenhof gardens and 2 nights near the UNESCO world heritage site of Kinderdijk, home to 19 magnificent windmills.  During the week, we'll also visit the Alkmaar cheese market held every Friday morning, the wonderful windmills and traditional buildings of Zaanse Schans and if time allows, the villages of De Rijp and Marken and the pretty port of Enkhuisen.

We'll be on location every morning at dawn and every evening at sunset, subject to weather conditions. We may encounter misty conditions around the windmills which are incredible to photograph. Whenever possible, we'll photograph the windmills surrounded by tulips which provide perfect lead-in lines.

A trip to Holland during tulip season wouldn't be complete without visiting the Keukenhof gardens. Over 7 million spring-flowering bulbs have been planted in unique patterns for visitors to enjoy. The compositions are endless! It's also a great opportunity to do some macro photography.
