The Périgord is an enchanting region of castles, picturesque villages and the majestic Dordogne river,  all set in a timeless landscape.

This workshop can run in association with the Dordogne photo workshop.

Based in the impressive medieval town of Sarlat, we'll discover the castles, villages and landscape of the Périgord.

Here's a brief outline of the workshop with a list of some of the locations we'll photograph.

Domme: At dawn, the view from the top of the cliffs is magnificent.  The village is full of typical Périgordian architecture.

Chateau de Beynac: Once home to Richard the Lion heart, the castle sits above the Dordogne river and dominates the valley below.

Roque-Gageac: The village was built along the banks of the Dordogne river and the sandstone buildings look stunning at sunset when reflected in the calm water.

Chateau de Montfort: Perched on the edge of a steep cliff with the river below, it is an exceptional feat of engineering and looks magical at sunrise.

Sarlat: The medieval architecture is a masterpiece, particularly around the main square after sunset.

A typical day will involve a sunrise shoot followed by breakfast. We'll then visit different villages and castles whilst looking out for any interesting landscape. After lunch, we'll have a rest and then continue to discover the region, ending the day at different sunset locations, before enjoying some delicious local cuisine.
