I'm excited to announce that in January 2023 I'll be teaming up with top landscape and travel photographer Lee Frost, plus experienced Vietnamese photographer/guide Giang Nguyen to lead an unforgettable photography tour to the North and South of Vietnam. This will be my fourth tour to this amazing country and I'm really looking forward to working with Lee and my good friend Giang.
The tour starts in Vietnam's capital city Hanoi and is taking place in January to coincide with the incense season. Every year, hundreds of locals create vibrant incense sticks from bamboo ready for the lunar new year holidays and on the very first full day of the trip we'll visit the incense village of Quang Phu Cau to capture this amazing spectacle.
From Hanoi we head to the spectacular World Heritage Site of Halong Bay, a sheltered harbour with some 2000 limestone islands jutting out of the Bac Bo Gulf. We'll cruise around the bay between the mighty Karst mountains and floating fishing villages and spend the night aboard our boat.
After exploring Hanoi, we'll take an internal flight to Cam Ranh, then take a private coach transfer to the coastal city of Phan Rang where we'll explore and photograph beautiful coral reefs and sand dunes. Travelling to Phu Yen, we'll visit the oldest pottery village in Vietnam, where Cham women continue the ancient tradition of making pottery.
After visiting Quy Nhon, often called 'The Maldives if Vietnam', we take a morning flight to Can Tho then journey to Bac Lieu where we'll explore the amazing Mekong Delta - home to rice paddies, coconut plantations and fishing villages along the Mekong River. We'll spend time capturing life on the river before flying to Saigon where the trip comes to an end.
Tim and Lee will be on hand at all times to offer advice and guidance. With the help of their Vietnamese guide, they will also set-up shoots with local people so you will have the opportunity to capture portraits in amazing settings and ensure you get the most from this trip.
If you would like to find out more about the trip, please contact Tim and he will send you a full itinerary.
